Outlaw Bronze Jingle Star
Inspired by the old West, the star shape just so happens to work right into our modular style.
Add to your Outlaw Collection with a single star layer with your choice of Bronze Jingles, Steel Jingles, Jingle Bells, or Shakers. Each single layer comes with the 2" center spacer washer so you can easily center and stack your multi-layered combo to get different blends of sounds. If you decide to use the star as a free-floating topper, be sure to put the spacer washer in a safe place for future use.
If you'd like to use multiple Outlaw stars at once, check out the Outlaw Collection Starter Kit. The kit come with a star of your choice, the Utility Clutch XL and two 3" Leather/Steel Washers so you can stack them and play them all on your hi-hat. The starter kit has the option to add a Rebound Clutch for more movement and dimension.
You will need 1 1/2"-2” of exposed hi-hat rod to use the Outlaw layers individually with just the Utility Clutch XL and 6” if using it with the Rebound Clutch to get the intended effect.
The Outlaw Collection is a layered, multi-functional modular system. We wanted a multi-use effect designed for, but not limited to, the hi-hat. With the large center hole, each layer can be used resting on your hi-hat cymbal, standard cymbal, drum or any Stax, with no clutch, like a free-floating topper, or use the included leather center washer kit and Utility Clutch XL on your hi-hat rod, like a hi-hat tambourine. This dual feature combined with the different layer options gives a wide array of sound possibilities.
As a free-floating topper:Choose Bronze Jingles, Steel Jingles, Jingle Bells, or Shakers. The large center hole helps to keep the piece somewhat centered over the bell of the hi-hat while still allowing it to be free-floating with room to move. You’ll get more sound with the opening and closing of the hi-hats than you will with a stick strike of the hi-hat cymbal. The star shape allows you to use multiple layers at once. Be sure to keep track of the 2" center spacer washers!
As a hi-hat tambourine:
Choose Bronze Jingles, Steel Jingles, Jingle Bells, or Shakers. You will assemble the layers, as shown in the photo above, onto the included Utility Clutch XL. (Don't forget the 2" center spacer washer!) Attach the Utility Clutch XL to your hi-hat rod. The flexibility of the leather gives you added movement with each stroke of the hi-hat pedal to the outer points where the jingles, bells and shakers are attached.
As a hi-hat tambourine with BOUNCE:
The Outlaw Collection works best when it has the most movement to give the most sound. To get the most movement, we highly recommend adding a Rebound Clutch to the assembled Starter Kit. Nothing else will give you the maximum movement, sound and dimension this collection was designed to have. You’ll have more rhythmic opportunities with the added bounce between the springs. (Make sure to loosen the screw on the Utility Clutch XL so it will move freely on the hi-hat rod).
