Laminated Leather Bass Drum Beater

We actually started this design with wood back in 2012.  At that time, we had several other wooden beaters, so we let this one sit on the back burner for a while.  After working with leather over the past year, we decided to bring the laminated beater back, but to make it with leather instead of wood.
 
The sound the Laminated Leather Beater will give you is not overly bright, but it has a good punch.  It’s definitely a different sound than wood.  
 
After several prototypes of different shapes and configurations, we finally settled on this shape and these two sizes because we thought they felt and sounded the best.
The rounded sides allow for more of the beater to strike the head surface, regardless of your setup.
 
The Laminated Leather Beaters are hand-dyed.  Please be advised that there may be some color transfer onto your drumhead.
