This is a PROTOTYPE Gig Clap
What's the difference?
-Our regular retail Gig Clap had 4 layers, 9", 11", 13", and 15", uniformed hammered dimpling and our colorful heat-treated finish. 
 
-This prototype Gig Clap has 3 layers, 11", 13", and 15", a more random hammered dimpling and bells in each layer.  Kevin was trying out different finishes at that time, so this one has a speckled effect (we called it "Galaxy") in addition to the heat-treated colors.  It has been played on the shop kit but has no dents or significant signs of wear.

It’s the ideal blend of a Clap and a Stax!
 
Each layer is hand-hammered in a circular pattern. This allows for space between each of the layers giving you a louder, less-dry clap sound.
 
Ways to Play the CP Clap Stax:
Loose for more of a Stax sound. 
Tighter for a shorter, more clap-like sound.
With the shoulder of the stick to hit more layers at the same time, giving you more of a clap sound. 
With the tip of the stick to target one layer at a time for a more articulated note.
 
Golf Clap gives you a higher pitched clap sound and has 4 layers, 7”, 8”, 9”, 10”.
Gig Clap gives you a more standard type of clap sound and has 4 layers, 9”, 11”, 13”, 15”.
Arena Clap gives you a fuller, lower frequency clap sound and has 3 layers, 15”, 17”, 19”.
